Directed by Woody Allen who's famous for his favor in shooting in New York City, this time, the story starts in London. A very amusing script about a man called Chris Wilton, a tennis coach struggling his way up to the high society when he met the Hewett family......

The man who said 'I'd rather be lucky than good’ saw deeply into life. People are afraid to face how great a part of life is dependent on luck. It's scary to think so much is out of one's control. There are moments in a match when the ball hits the top of the net and for a split second it can either go forward or fall back. With a little luck, it goes forward and you win…or maybe it doesn’t, and you lose.” from Match Point official website.
The movie starts with Chris's monologue, about how luck's important to a tennis game, and also to life. If a ball bounces, you win if it fell over the net; you loose if it fell to the opposit direction, and so does life. When you see the preview on TV or internet, you might assume that this is just another movie about a man cheating on his wife. No, no, no. You'll surprise yourself when you go to see this movie. Chris's a young man fighting his way up to the high society and then he meets the Hewett family, a wealthy and generous family which accepts Chris as a family member. When he gets used to the better life, he has to decide if he should give up his wife, the life he has now, opera every night, go hunting in the country, going everywhere with a chauffeur, for another woman. He's ball just bounce, and you'll have to see which direction the ball falls.
The script was written by Woody Allen himself and casting the next big star - Scarlett Johansson from Lost in Translation, Jonathan Rhys Meyers from the Velvet Goldmine and Vanity fair (a very promising British actor), Matthew Goode in Chasing Liberty with Mandy Moore and Emily Mortimer from Dear FrankieGerard Butler. Several notable actor and actresses are also taking part in this movie. Mrs. Hewett was played by Penelope Wilton, Mrs. Hamley from Wives and Daughters and Brian Cox, William Stryker from X2, played Mr. Hewett. Regarding the music, if you're a fan of opera, you could try this one. The whole movie's surrounded by opera and opera music. Well, I do not have enough experience about opera, so......couldn't recommend you objectively. There're times that people in the theater couldn't stand what Chris said because he's such a liar to people around him. Maybe "men are all natural born liars" or maybe people do cheat when they're in the situation like that. A very amazing movie and creative story indeed. with
